Erin Harper is an Atlanta native and a graduate of Spelman College. After an underwhelming internship in the accounting department of an advertising agency, Erin decided to attend graduate school to study school psychology. She worked as an urban school psychologist for eight years.
Frustrated by school politics and the superiors who did not enjoy her defiant outbursts, Erin began to use social media to leverage her voice. In August 2011, she started this blog, which could win an award for the best digital manifestation of human prefrontal cortex dysfunction. Erin has since merged her interests in advocacy, culture, entertainment and advertising to create original digital content for The Huffington Post, The Washington Post’s, The Root DC Live, Forbes, The Atlanta-Journal Constitution, and Your Black World. She has also contributed her opinion to HLNtv.com.
Today, Erin is a doctoral candidate in school psychology at Georgia State University where she is a project coordinator at the Center for Research on School Safety, School Climate, and Classroom Management. She hopes to defend her dissertation before the Atlanta Falcons win the Super Bowl.
During her spare time, Erin teaches individuals and small businesses how to use social media effectively. During her spare spare time, Erin tickles strangers, avoids loose men, and studies the disproportionality of butter and sugar in unpalatable cream cheese frostings. Get to know her. She’s not that bad…after 10 am.

What the hell?
I believe you were awesome before you even realized it. You have inspired people to truly open their eyes to what has been in front of them for years. I love your ability to comically bring awareness to real issues, especially those affecting our young women. Your mix of wit, humor, and true desire to make a difference is brilliantly refreshing. I pray that God continues to direct your path and illuminate your future!
